We are Karen and Steve Brown,

In 2011 my Husband and I stayed in a holiday let in Seaton just along the coast, where we walked across the beach and almost made it to Millendreath. We had the most relaxing holiday and I was smitten with the area.

 

On our return, I looked up property sales in and around Looe. MY 'dream' being to have a little place of our own, where we could take our dogs and get away for a while. That is where I found the affordable properties in Millendreath. The area was run down,  but the site had just been purchased by developers 'Espalier'

 

After much research, I took the train in the school holiday to check out what I had read. My friend and I checked out all the properties for sale (and there were many) and to cut a long story short, we ended up remortgaging our house, borrowing off my Mum and buying Sea View Hillside Villa.

 

We couldn't believe we could have a place by the sea, with such stunning views!

We spent the whole of winter 2011 travelling from Nottingham at weekends, to refurbish it ourselves. We literally transported everything including the kitchen sink in and on my old Land Rover Defender to end up with the villa we have today. The only tradesmen we had were the electrician, plumber and plasterer.​

 

​In 2015 we purchased Sea Salt the same way, doing the renovation again but with a little more help this time. It was completely finished in Feb 2016.
